Propaganda and disinformation in the context of Internal Security of the Republic of Poland during the cognitive warfare

Celem pracy licencjackiej jest analiza roli propagandy i dezinformacji w wojnie kognitywnej oraz ocena wpływu tych zjawisk na bezpieczeństwo wewnętrzne Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. Podkreśla, że te niematerialne aspekty walki stały się kluczowymi narzędziami w dynamicznym środowisku bezpieczeństwa, stwarzając poważne zagrożenia dla państwa.
Pierwszy rozdział przedstawia historyczną ewolucję propagandy od starożytności do współczesności, analizując definicje, cele (biała, szara, czarna) i techniki manipulacyjne.
Drugi rozdział koncentruje się na dezinformacji w erze cyfrowej, definiując ją w kontekście "nieładu informacyjnego" i omawiając technologiczne uwarunkowania jej rozprzestrzeniania (media społecznościowe, algorytmy, boty, GenAI, mikrotargetowanie).
Trzeci rozdział poświęcono wojnie kognitywnej jako nowej domenie konfrontacji międzynarodowej, przedstawiając jej ewolucję, definicje (NATO, Chiny, Rosja) oraz strategiczne cele, takie jak zmiana samoświadomości narodu, destabilizacja i podważanie zaufania. Rozdział ten identyfikuje konkretne zagrożenia dla bezpieczeństwa wewnętrznego Polski wynikające z wojny kognitywnej oraz nakreśla strategie budowania odporności państwa wobec tych wyzwań.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the role of propaganda and disinformation in cognitive warfare and to assess the impact of these phenomena on the internal security of the Republic of Poland. It's important to note that intangible combat aspects have become crucial tools in a changing security environment, which can pose serious threats to the state.
In the first chapter, propaganda is presented as an historical evolution from antiquity to the present day, with an analysis of definitions, goals (white, gray, and black), and manipulative techniques.
In the second chapter, the focus is on disinformation in the digital era, emphasizing its definition as 'information disorder' and discussing the technological factors that led to its spread (social media, algorithms, bots, GenAI, microtargeting).
The third chapter is devoted to cognitive warfare as a new domain of international confrontation, presenting its evolution, definitions (NATO, China, Russia) and strategic goals, such as changing the self-awareness of a nation, destabilizing and undermining trust. The chapter identifies specific threats to Poland's internal security that result from the cognitive war and provides strategies for improving the state's resilience to these challenges.
